The Splendid and the Vile
I’ll admit: I only picked up this book because I didn’t have anything to read while visiting my parents in January. I had read another of Erik Larson’s books - The Devil in the White City - a few years ago, and appreciated his ability to relay historic stories with rich, fiction-like writing.
